Objective:That pay attention to humanistic concern and psychological counseling is kind of a practical necessity for the educational work of ideology and politics in nowdays.As the object of humanistic concern and psychological counseling, cancer patients reported an subjective experience of extraordinary positive psychological change as a result of the struggle with highly challenging life circumstances, which is defined as ’posttraumatic growth’(PTG),the same as a kind of an positive energy that is very critical.This study on patients with cancer focuses on domains of posttraumatic growth and its influencing factors, and the relationship between PTG and the quality of life of cancer patients,in order to provide the basis for helping cancer patients to restitute psychological function with humanistic concern.Methods:Participants were71women with breast cancer who were recruited from Tianjin Medical University Cancer Institute and Hospital,and54patients with cancer in chest recruited from Tianjin Medical University General Hospital. A total of125cancer patents were asked to complete the Personal Basic Information Questionnaire, The Posttraumatic Growth Inventory(PTGI),The European Organization for Research and Treatment (EORTC QLQ-C30). A database for statistical analysis was estabilished through the social science statistical package SPSS18.0. Internal reliability analysis was used to identify the reliability of each questionnaire, Descriptive analysis was used to measure the level of cancer patients’PTG, Independent-Samples Test and One-Way ANOVA were applied to investigate the difference of the cancer patients’ growth with different influencing factors.Pearson correlation analysis was adopted to analyze the relations between PTG and the quality life of cancer patients. Stepwise regression analysis was used to identify the factors which affect cancer patients’ QoL.Results:①The Cronbach of PTGI and QLQ-C30was0.829and0.905respectively, which proved the scales had good reliability.②The total score of PTGI was0-98(range of0-110), the average was55.79, the standard deviation of20.89.③Patients’ posttraumatic growth was predicted by some of Sociodemographic characteristics,such as younger age,gender,high level of education and Household income/month.④Three investigated factors in disease-related characteristics—Cancer site,Time elapsed since diagnosis and Treatment status—significantly contributed to variation in PTGI total scores and subscales.⑤The total score of QLQ-30was positively correlated with dimensions of New possibilities,Personal growth and Appreciation of life(p<0.01).Some domains of QLQ-C30includes Role functioning,Emotional functioning,Appetite loss,Constipation and Diarrhoea had significant correlation with PTG respectively.⑥Stepwise regression analysis showed that personal growth and Appreciation of life were the main predictors of cancer patients’ QoL.Conclusion:①Patients’posttraumatic growth belongs to medium level.②Sociodemographic characteristics including age,gender,level of education and household income per month, disease-related characteristics such as Cancer site,Time elapsed since diagnosis and Treatment status are all important determinants of posttraumatic growth.②There is significant correlation bettwen PTG and QLQ-C30④PTG of cancer patients can predict QoL...
