Objective:through clinical epidemiology survey and retrospective chart analysis methods, the correlation between carotid atherosclerosis and coronary heart disease of Uygur and Han nationalities at different ages and with different genders was analyzed, the relation among related risk factors, coronary and carotid artery intima-media thickness(IMT) was realized, thereby exploring the difference of carotid atherosclerosis, as one of the predictors of coronary heart disease, in different age levels, Uygur and Han nationalities, and different genders, as well as the significance to early discovery of coronary heart disease and application of positive prevention. Methods:A total of356patients underwent coronary angiography and carotid ultrasound examination were included, wherein270cases had coronary heart disease,86cases do not belong to non-coronary heart disease,183cases had Han nationality,173cases had Uygur nationality,190cases were male,166cases were female,11cases were less than40-year-old,62cases were between40and49years old,108cases were between50and59years,115cases were between60and69-year-old,60cases were equal to or more than70-year-old, the correlation of carotid atherosclerosis and coronary heart disease in different ethnic origins, genders and ages, and the correlation among carotid artery atherosclerosis, coronary artery stenosis and coronary heart disease risk factors were analyzed respectively. Results:1) carotid IMT (inner-medium membrane thickness) of Uygur and Han coronary heart disease group and non-coronary heart disease group was compared,(P <0.01) there is significant statistical difference; Uygur and Han carotid IMT in coronary heart disease group and non-CAD group was compared, P>0.05, there is no statistical difference;2) carotid IMT of CHD group and non-CAD group at different ages was compared,(P<0.01)>40years of age, there is significant statistical difference;3) carotid IMT of male and female coronary heart disease group and non-CAD group was compared, P<0.01, there is statistically significant difference; men and women carotid IMT in CHD group was compared, P>0.05, there is no statistical significance; men and women neck artery IMT in the non-CHD group was compared, P<0.01, there is statistically significant difference.4) Carotid IMT of coronary artery with different severity was compared (P <0.01), there is significant statistical difference;5) Univariate logistic regression analysis showed that age, nationality, body mass index, hypertension, diabetes, carotid IMT, triglycerides, total cholesterol, high density lipoprotein, low-density lipoprotein, apolipoprotein Al and apolipoprotein B are closely related with coronary heart disease. On the basis of the above univariate analysis, meaningful variables should be screened for multivariate Logistic regression, the analysis result showed that carotid IMT, apolipoprotein A1, apolipoprotein B, and coronary were closely related to heart disease.6) Variance analysis was conducted on lipids and carotid IMT, the results suggest that total cholesterol, apolipoprotein A1and apolipoprotein B of different levels of carotid IMT were compared (P<0.01), the difference was statistically significant. Conclusions:1) carotid atherosclerosis is closely related coronary heart disease;2) carotid IMT and coronary heart disease severity were positively correlated;3) carotid IMT is closely correlated with coronary heart disease in Uygur and Han ethnic groups, at different agesā‰„40years of age and different genders;4) the incidence of coronary heart disease and carotid IMT between Uygur and Han nationalities had no significant difference;5) carotid IMT and coronary heart disease have similar risk factors in the aspect of hypertension.
