Objective: This article mainly studied the expression of OPG and TRAIL in osteosarcomaand osteochondroma by Immunohistochemical methods, and preliminary discussioned thepossible significance and relevance of them in the occurrence and development ofosteosarcoma. Methods: The expression of OPG and TRAIL in50cases of osteosarcoma and10cases ofosteochondroma was detected by Immunohistochemical SABC method, then, SPSS19.0was used to analyze the results;and thus, we can preliminarily explore its significance andanalyze the correlation of them.Results:1. OPG mainly expressed in osteosarcoma cell cytoplasm, There were36caseswere positive in50patients with osteosarcoma, the positive rate was72.00%; while only2cases were positive in10cases of osteochondroma, the positive rate was20.00%. Whichhave significant difference between the two groups (P <0.05).The expression of OPG indifferent pathological tissue typing was no significant difference (P>0.05), However, theexpression of OPG in the different Ennecking stages was obvious difference(P <0.05).2. TRAIL mainly expressed in the membrane of osteosarcoma cell, There were16caseswere positive in50patients with osteosarcoma, the positive rate was32.00%; while7caseswere positive in10cases of osteochondroma, the positive rate was70.00%. Which havesignificant difference between the two groups (P <0.05). The expression of TRAIL was nosignificant difference in different pathological tissue typing and the different Enneckinginstallments in osteosarcoma (P>0.05).3.The positive rate of OPG in the transfer group of osteosarcoma was93.30%, and in thenon-transfer group was58.82%. the expression of OPG-positive rate in the two groups was significantly different (P<0.05). While, the positive immunostaining rate of TRAIL in thetransfer group of osteosarcoma was17.39%, and in theon-transfer group was31.25%. theexpression of TRAIL-positive rate in the two groups was dramatically different (P<0.05).4、OPG and TRAIL expression in osteosarcoma was negatively related and statisticallysignificant (r=-0.432, P=0.002<0.05).Conclusion:1.OPG and TRAIL may Respectively play a role in the mechanism of Survival andapoptosis in osteosarcoma;2.High expression of OPG may inhibit the expression of TRAIL and be relevant with theformation of a large number of tumor bone;3. OPG and TRAIL may be related to the invasion and metastasis of osteosarcoma.
