| ObjectiveTo observe the changes of sex hormones levels of middle-aged men and further discussthe influences of low hormone level on the quality of life.Methords1.150cases of45-90year-old hospitalized elderly men in the Cadre Ward of AnhuiProvincial Hospital from October2011to March2012were enrolled into this study. There are50cases in middle-aged group(age45-59),50cases in old aged group (60-79years old),50cases in senior group(greater than the80-year-old group).2. The next morning after the admission, all these hospitalized are extracted5ml ofblood after fasting for more than8h,and these bloods were sented into the endocrinelaboratory, and Use chemiluminescence immune method was used to test the level ofserum testosterone (T), the follicle-stimulating hormone (FSH) and luteinizinghormone (LH). At the same time, the partly serum was stored into the-20°refrigerator to store for testing the dehydrogenation table (DHEA) by ELASA.3.SF-36the health scale Latitude score was applied for each group. The SF-36HealthQuestionnaire [1] contain36terms and divide into eight health latitud, Namelyphysiological function (PF), physiological function (RP), body pain (BP), generalhealth (GH), energy (VT), social function (SF), emotional function (RE), mental health(MH). every healthy concept o include two to ten items. the highest score is100 points, the lowest zero point. the higher the score is, the higher the quality of life is.First convert the raw data into the initial score value and Use standard formula tocaculate final score of each dimension. Scale score conversion formula is: Eachdimension conversion score=[(the actual score-the lowest possible score)/(the highestpossible score-the lowest score)] x100%).Result1.Serum T, DHEA levels of senior group were significantly lower than those of themiddle age group (p <0.01) and the old group (p <0.05) and The old group wassignificantly lower than the middle age group (P <0.05). At the same time, the FSH,LH level of senior group were significantly higher than middle-aged group (p <0.01)and the old group (p <0.05).2.SF-36scale eight health latitude score of senior group are significantly lower thanthat of the middle age group (p <0.01) and the old group (p <0.05) and The oldgroup is significantly lower than the middle age group (P <0.05).3.Relationship analysis showed that: age and serum T, DHEA level were at a negativecorrelation (r=0.389, r=0.505, p <0.05)and age with serum FSH, LH levels arepositively correlated (r=0.427, r=0.520, p <0.05). After the adjustment for age factors, serum T level and SF-36health scale physical functioning,role-physical,Bodily Pain, general health, vitality, mental health was positively correlated(r=0.264,r=0.215,r=0.213,r=0.289,r=0.232,r=0.213,p<0.05),and with social function, emotionalfunction health dimensions had no obvious correlation (p>0.05); Serum DHEA levelsand the SF-36Health Scale each latitude score were positively correlated (r=0.294, r=0.273, r=0.268, r=0.301, r=0.215, r=0.254, r=0.326, r=0.342, p <0.05). Conclusion1.The serum sex hormone level change with age, serum T and DHEA levels are at anegative correlation with age and serum FSH and LH levels are positively correlatedwith age.2. After adjusting for age,the declination of serum T and serum DHEA levelshave effects on the quality of life of the middle-aged men. |
