Objective:To investigate the expression of B7-H4in intralymph node and extralymph node and its relationship with the corresponding clinical indicators, wepreliminarily discuss B7-H4’s potential role in the occurrence and development of thelymphoma.Methods:45paraffin-embedded specimens were collected,including30cases ofnon-Hodgkin lymphoma(NHL),7cases of Hodgkin lymphoma(HL) and8cases ofbenign hyperplastic lymphadenitis patients. Using immunohistochemical Elivision Plusmethods,we detected the expression of B7-H4on the45cases. The results of lymphomapatients’ clinical examinations were recorded at the same time. And analyze thecorrelation of B7-H4expressions to gender、age、stage、lesions and histologicalcategory.Results:(1)The positive rate of B7-H4’expression in lymphoma and benignhyperplastic lymphadenitis patients were respectively54.1%(20/37) and0%(0/8).Thedifference between them were statistically significant (P=0.006).(2)The positiveexpression rate of B7-H4in NHL and HL patients were respectively56.7%(17/30) and42.9%(3/7). There was no significant different between them (P=0.680).(3) Thepositive rate of B7-H4’s expression betweenⅠ/Ⅱ patients and Ⅲ/Ⅳ patients were18.8%(3/16) and80.9%(17/21) respectively. The difference between them showed statistically significance (P=0.000).(4)The positive expression rate of B7-H4betweenmales and females were respectively63.2%(12/19) and50%(9/18). And there was nosignificant difference between them (P=0.515).(5)The positive expression rate of B7-H4in lymphoma patients with age>56years old was42.9%(9/21),while it was50%(8/16)in lymphoma patients with age≤56. There was no significant difference between them(P=0.746).Conclusion: B7-H4expression is associated with the pathogenesis of lymphomaand can be used as an effective identification of the lymphoma with benign hyperplasticlymphadenitis whereas it shows no clinical significance in the identification ofHodgkin’s lymphoma and non-hodgkin’s lymphoma. This study also confirmed that theB7-H4expression in lymphoma patients has a positive correlation with the diseasepathological staging whereas further in-depth study is obligated in addition.
