Epidemiological Investigation And Analysis Of Allergic Rhinitis In Kunming Area

[Objective] To investigate the incidence of allergic rhinitis in Kunming, so as to figure out the epidemiological characteristics of sick people, and analyze its risk factors, then provide a scientific basis for the intervention and control of allergic rhinitis in this region.[Methods] With the used of the part of the allergic rhinitis relevant questionnaire in "The major epidemiological studies of allergic diseases questionnaire of China", and according to the stratified multistage cluster sampling method, we carried out an epidemiological investigation of allergic rhinitis amount the ordinarily resident living in Kunming six months or more. Then had a statistical analysis for the results according to screening criteria of allergic rhinitis developing by the ARIA (2001).[Results]1.We had a survey of1186cases actually, and received1109valid questionnaires at last, the average effective rate was93.51%.2. The total prevalence rate of AR crowd was20.74%in Kunming, and the people of21-30years old had the highest incidence rate, then turned to a downward trend after40years old.3. The male AR prevalence was20.03%, while the female was21.54%, there was no significant difference of AR prevalence between male and female.4. The AR prevalence rate of Longxiang Street was30.02%, while that of the Chenggong county was11.74%, it was higher in urban than in rural areas, there was a significant difference of AR prevalence between regions.5. AR could break out all through the year, there were two incidence peaks respectively from March to April and September to October, with the main of moderate-severe persistent AR.6. Pollen exposure, number of children in the family, family history, living environment, Western eating habits were the main factors of AR in the local region.[Conclusion] The AR prevalence rate is relatively high in Kunming, at about20.74%, and the pollen exposure, number of children in the family as well as family history, living environment, Western eating habits are risk factors. In this study, we have a preliminary understanding of the current situation about the epidemiology of allergic rhinitis of Kunming area, and may provide effective prevention and treatment for allergic rhinitis with epidemiological data of the local region.
