5Years Follow-up Study Of The Anterior Cruciate Ligament Injury Treated By Reconstruction Of Ligament Advanced Reinforcement System

AIM:To study the changes and therapeutic results of recent and metaphase cases of anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) injury arthroscopic reconstruction with ligament advanced reinforcement system (LARS) artificial transplantation.METHODS:Forty cases with ACL injuries that diagnosed by physical examination and MRI examination who were treated by LARS artificial ligament from January2006to December2007in The Second Affiliated Hospital of Soochow University were studied. They were all diagnosed as trauma and sports injury whose average age was33.9. Their injure time was from7days to9months with even3.5months±0.42month. With the informed consents, all the subjects was treated by arthroscopic reconstruction of ligament advanced reinforcement system (produced by France LARS Company). Lysholm and IKDC evaluation system was used to rank the function of knee joint before the operation and6months,12months,24months,5years after the operation. We gave these cases MRI examination in the24months and5years after the operation.RESULTS:Forty patients were followed up from6months to5years, including40cases for0-6months,38cases for6-12months,27cases for12-24months and17cases for24months-5years. The Lysholm evaluation system is50.2±8.52and IKDC evaluation system is47.21±7.45before operation. The Lysholm is86.4±6.32and IKDC is83.43±6.186months postoperation. The Lysholm is89.2±5.45and IKDC is86.59±6.0812months postoperation. The Lysholm is93.2±4.23and IKDC is91.07±4.8824months postoperation. The Lysholm is87.5±6.35and IKDC is84.08±6.835years postoperation. Distinct differences are found between6months postoperation and24months postoperation. Within2years the curative effect is gradually increase. The unstable symptom of15knees are disappeared5years postoperation. The joint function was good with the flexion of0～130.5°±12.7°. The anterior drawer test and Lachman test of2cases were positive. With MRI examination, joint effusion, Joint fibrosis, synovitis and degenerative changes of articular cartilage did not observed. According to the Lysholm and IKDC evaluation system, the preoperative scores was less than that of postoperative significantly. The differences between24months postoperation and5years postoperation are also distinct. The curative effect5years postoperation is less than24months postoperation. But the curative effect5years postoperation is overall satisfaction. CONCLUSION:The recent and metaphase curative effect of LARS artificial ligaments is overall satisfaction. Within2years the curative effect is gradually increase. The curative effect5years postoperation is less than24months postoperation.
