Objective:Through the detection of the expression levels of several cytokines Thl-type cytokines (IFN-y, TNF-a, IL-2), Th2-type cytokines (IL-4, IL-6, IL-10), Th17-type cytokine (IL-17) in serum of patients with lung cancer, and comparative analysis the relationship of the expression levels of cytokines with gender, age, pathological type, clinical stage, and presence of lymph node metastasis in patients with lung cancer; and analysis the relationship between each cytokine; so that we can explore the role and clinic significance of Thl/Th2/Th17-type cytokines in the process of occurrence and development of the lung cancer.Methods:Cytometric bead array(CBA) was employed to detect the expression levels of seven cytokines(IFN-y, IL-2, TNF-a; IL-4, IL-6, IL-10; IL-17) in serum from40cases of patients with lung cancer and40cases of healthy persons; And random selected40cases of healthy persons as control group. SPSS16.0statistical software was used to analysis and deal with the experimental data.Result:1. In serum of patients with lung cancer, the expression levels of Thl-type cytokines IL-2, TNF-a (2.56±0.71,2.89±0.85)pg/ml were obviously lower than that of the healthy control group (3.03±0.44,3.88±0.86)pg/ml; the expression levels of IFN-y (6.84±2.62)pg/ml were higher than healthy controls (3.99±0.82)pg/ml (P<0.05); the expression levels of Th2-type cytokines IL-6, IL-10(9.40±1.19,4.80±1.19)pg/ml were obviously higher than that of the healthy control group(5.18±1.57,4.61±0.85)pg/ml(P<0.05); although the expression of IL-4(3.02±1.17)pg/ml was higher than the healthy controls(3.02±0.47)pg/ml, but there was no statistic difference(P>0.05).2. No significant statistical difference was found in the expression levels of Thl-type cytokines(IFN-y, IL-2, TNF-a), Th2-type cytokines(IL-4, IL-6, IL-10), Th17-type cytokines(IL-17) in the serum of patients with lung cancer among the groups with different sex,different disease stages, histological types, pathological type, and presence of lymph node metastasis ect (P>0.05).3. In serum of patients with lung cancer, IFN-ywas significantly related with IL-2, IL-4, IL-17, presenting a positive straight line, their correlation coefficient respectively were(r=0.406, P=0.021),(r=0.784, P=0.000),(r=0.389, P=0.028); IL-2was significantly related with TNF-a, IL-4, IL-6, IL-17, presenting a positive straight line,their correlation coefficient respectively were(r=0.390, P=0.027),(r=0.382, P=0.031),(r=0.433, P=0.013),(r=0.646, P=0.000); IL-6was significantly related with IL-10, IL-17, presenting a positive straight line, their correlation coefficient respectively were(r=0.460, P=0.008),(r=0.514, P-0.003); IL-10was significantly related with IL-17, presenting a positive straight line,tits correlation coefficient respectively was(r=0.387, P=0.032).Conclusion:1. compared with those of normal control group, the expression levels of Thl-type cytokines were significantly lower in serum of patients with lung cancer, while the expression levels of Thl-type cytokines were higher, which may cause the declining or the suppression condition of immune function of lung cancer patients, and may be one of the reasons that promoted the occurrence and development of lung cancer.2. No obvious correlation was found between the expression level of Th1/Th2/Th17-type cytokines in serum of patients with lung cancer and the clinical features of gender, clinical stage, pathological type and lymph node metastasis ect. 3. The expression level of IL-17in the serum of patients with lung cancer was significantly higher than the normal persons; IL-17was significantly related with IL-2, IL-6, IL-10, showing a positive linear correlation, which suggests that IL-17may be played a certain role in promoting of the occurrence and development of lung cancer.4. Combined detection of the expression levels of Thl/Th2/Th17-type cytokines in serum of patients with lung cancer, and analysis the correlation between various cytokines, which may contribute to the dynamic monitoring of changes in the disease of lung cancer, but it needed confirmation in further study.
