Objective Discuss the relationship between nutritional status and lung function ofCOPD patients to supply novel idea to estimate the patients’ condition, prognosis and preventas well as treatment. Methods we observed80COPD patients who underwent fast blood biochemical testsand lung function as well as height and weight. We also performed MNA-SF raised byRubenstein, which is the sole criterion of evaluating the patients’ nutritional condition. Themaximum score of MNA-SF is14. Scores≥11indicate good nutritional status (group I),and scores<11indicate a risk of undernutrition(group II).At last, we analyzed all of thetested data.ResultsThe majority of the sample (n=42,52.5%)had score<11,and38patients had score≥11.there was no significant difference(P>0.05)of lung function between the two group, however, the more serious of COPD,the more patients had score<11.The difference ofALB is significant between group I and II. there were no obvious difference of most of theother indicatorsConclusionMost of COPD patients has undernutrition. The more serious of COPD, the higher risk ofundernutrition, which indicates that strengthen the COPD patients’ nutritional condition mayimprove their prognosis, shorten hospitalization and lessen the burden of families.
