Objective:To investigate the clinical effect and application value of Video-assitedmini-thoracotomy in the treatment of Primary mediastinal tumor.Through two kinds ofsurgical methods clinical curative effect of comparative analysis, seek a kind ofminimally invasive treatment of Primary mediastinal tumors valuable methods, so as torealize the clinical further popularization and application. Methods:Collected from December2007-2012December,the surgical treatment of54cases of primary mediastinal tumors,30of whom underwent traditional thoracotomyincision,24routine Video-assited mini-thoracotomy, the case data of two kinds ofoperation were analyzed retrospectively study, comparison of clinical efficacy.Result: The average operation time, length of incision, blood losses, postoperativechest drain, dosage of painkiller, postoperative hospitalization days in the VAMT groupwere less than those in the conventional thoracic surgery group. The VAMT grouprespectively were88.54±23.52min、7.83±2.37cm、82.92±24.71ml、200.63±33.24ml、2.75±0.99g、8.92±2.60d.while the conventional thoracic surgery group respectively were103.17±22.69mim、20.17±3.67cm、104.67±33.40ml、337±90.83ml、3.69±0.96g、13.20±3.65d.Two groups of patients’ age, weight, tumor diameter had no significantdifference (p>0.05), but the average operation time, length of incision, blood losses, postoperative chest drain, dosage of painkiller, postoperative hospitalization days hadsignificant difference (P<0.05). Conclusion:Video-assited mini-thoracotomy has little injury, significant clinicalefficacy, fewer complications, faster recovery, safe and reliable in the treatment of valuablemethod of Primary Mediastinal Tumors, worthy of further clinical application.
