Objective:1. To evaluate the post elements of primary nurse in high quality nursing serviceward.2. To clear the post responsibilities and the requirements (e.g. professional ranks,train, practical experience) of primary nurse in high quality nursing service ward,form the job description of primary nurse in high quality nursing service ward ingeneral hospital.3. To describe the problems in job management of primary nurse in high qualitynursing service ward. To provide suggestions about deepen innovation.Methods:Qualitative and quantitative research methods have been used in this study.1. Quantitative researchA:116nursing managers were conveniently selected and questioned survey withself-made job analysis questionnaire about primary nurse in high quality nursingservice ward. The descriptive statistics, frequently, average and standard deviationwere adopted.B:368primary nurses or nursing managers were aim selected and questionedsurvey by network about post elements of primary nurse in high quality nursingservice ward. The descriptive statistics, frequently, average, standard deviation andtwo-sample t-test were adopted.2. Qualitative research: A phenomenological study on12nurses in high qualitynursing service ward, data were collected by in-depth interview to know their viewsof the post elements of primary nurse. The contents of the talks were analyzed, andthe main meaning were summarized. Results:1. The nursing managers have the same manner about post purposes andresponsibilities of primary nurse in high quality nursing service ward. The main jobpurposes of primary nurse include basic nursing, professional nursing, cure operation,health education, recover guidance and psychological support. The mainresponsibilities include clinical nursing, nursing management, nursing teaching andprofession development.2. The total score of post elements of primary nurse is76.91%. The job risk(87.82%)and job character(82.10%)are the highest two, but the requirement ofknowledge and skill(63.60%)and job responsibility(71.42%)are the lowest two inthe first level index. Some requirements of primary nurse in ICU are different withprimary nurse in general wards. The scores from young nurses group are also differentwith scores from older nurses group in many aspects.3. Interview result: The present main problems in post management of primarynurse include: The responsibilities and job requirements of primary nurse are notclear; the mode of management is inflexible; the value of primary nurse is not entireweigh and the present salary of primary nurse is unreasonable.Conclusion:Form the job description of primary nurse in high quality nursing service ward;explain the purpose, responsibility and post element of primary nurse in high qualitynursing service ward; find some problems in job management of primary nurse inhigh quality nursing service ward; offer proposals for job management, education andtraining.
