Objective:To evaluate the safety and efficiency and Clinical value of Intestinalobstruction stent for the treatment of Left Hemicolon Carcinoma with acute intestinalobstruction. Methods:Review and analysis128patients Left Hemicolon Carcinoma with acuteintestinal obstruction in our hospital from2003.3to2012.3,including63patientsimplanted the intestinal stent successfully as the study group,65patients underwentemergency operation as the control group. To analyze and compare the I phase tumorresection rate, perioperative mortality, postoperative anastomotic fistula, postoperativeanastomotic bleeding, postoperative incisional wound infection,postoperativeintra-abdominal infection, postoperative pulmonary infection, the postoperativeabdominal drainage, the hospital stays, the total cost of hospitalization, the mediansurvival time and survival rate in the two groups. Results:There was statistically significance differences between the two groups in theI phase tumor resection rate, perioperative mortality, postoperative anastomotic fistula, postoperative anastomotic bleeding, postoperative incisional woundinfection, postoperative intra-abdominal infection, postoperative pulmonary infection, abdominal drainage, the hospital stays, the total cost of hospitalization(P<0.05),therewas no significance differences in the median survival time, and there was nosignificance differences in the survival rate between the two groups(P>0.05).Conclusion:The Application of intestinal obstruction stent for the treatment of LeftHemicolon Carcinoma with acute intestinal obstruction:1.As a preoperative transitiontreatment, can turn the emergency operation into limited operation, turn the two-stageoperation into one-stage operation, reduce the operation risk and the perioperativemortality, increase the I phase tumor resection rate, reduce the incidence ofpostoperative anastomotic fistula and other complications, reduce the hospital staysand the total cost of hospitalization, reduce patient’s the pressure and burden.2.As apalliative treatment to replace the enterostomy, patient can avoid the anal bag and with a good quality of life.3. It is safe, effective and feasible for the treatment ofcolorectal cancer with acute intestinal obstruction.
