Objective: To investigate the safety, efficacy and clinical value of intestinal stent implantation in the treatment of left colorectal cancer with obstruction. Methods: From January 2015 to January 2019,collected the clinical data of patients with left colorectal cancer and intestinal obstruction who were treated by intestinal stent placement(Study Group)in the Second Affiliated Hospital of Chongqing Medical University, and compared with the patients with left colorectal cancer and intestinal obstruction who were treated in the same period for emergency surgery(control group). The operation and postoperative indexes of the two groups were compared. Results: 32 cases were included in the study group and 51 cases in the control group, among the 32 patients who underwent intestinal stent implantation,30 cases were successfully implanted,2 cases failed, andthe technical success rate was 93.75%.One patient had perforation during the transition period after successful implantation, and the other patients underwent surgery successfully after 5-10 days of transition, with a clinical success rate of 90.63%(29/32).Compared with the control group, the intraoperative blood loss in the study group was less,respectively(129.66+58.28)ml and(206.75+60.59)ml,and the postoperative hospitalization days were shorter,respectively(11.48+2.73)d and(13.65+4.12)d,the number of lymph nodes dissected was more,respectively(15.10+2.72)and(13.25+2.01),the treatment cost was lower(the control group included the payment for second stage stoma),which were(79.6+2.9)thousand yuan and(95.7+5.8)thousand yuan, with statistically significant differences(p<0.05).There was no death in the two groups during the perioperative period, and the infection rate of incision in the study group was lower, the difference was statistically significant(P < 0.05),and there was no significant difference in the incidence of other complications between the two groups(P > 0.05).There was no significant difference in operation time, local recurrence rate,disease-free survival rate and total survival rate between the two groups(P > 0.05).Conclusion:(1)Intestinal stent implantation is a safe, effective and high success rate of preoperative transitional treatment for left colorectal cancer with intestinal obstruction;(2)the effect of combined operation ofintestinal stent is better than that of traditional staging operation, with lower cost and significantly improved quality of life;(3)there is no significant difference in long-term survival rate between combined operation of intestinal stent implantation and traditional staging operation.
