The sub-compartment data of foresty resource is the fundation of forestry resource informationization and forestry resource information management, it is the guarantee of forestry resource data’s accuracy and current to update the forestry resource data timely and accurately.To backtrack the historical data of foresty resource is helpful to understand the dynamic change process and change law of foresty resource,and it can provide the decision support for the decision department of forestry resource.This paper summarize the historical and development status of forest resources’s data updating and backtracking methods on domestic and overseas. These theories,technologies and methods in the updating and backtracking of forestry resource are summarized and concluded widely,the different reasons of sub-compartment change are analysed,the different change forms of forestry resource’s spatial data are concluded,and the process of forestry resource data’s asynchronous updating and backtracking is hackled; the asynchronous updating method and backtracking algorithm are proposed. The asynchronous updating method and backtracking algorithm are that asynchronous updating and backtracking’s function is completed by the sub-compartment data table improved,sub-compartment management activity table added,and sub-compartment management activity history talbe added.The system’s functional structure and database’s table structure of asynchronous updating and backtracking sub-system in the platform of forestry resource management information system are designed in detail.Based on the ArcEngine development componments, ArcSDE spatial data engine and updating and backtracking algorithm proposed,the asynchronous updating and backtracking functional module are developed,and these functons including point-selected asynchronous updating,ID asynchronous updating,whole asynchronous updating,point-selected backtracking,ID backtracking, forward tracking,reversed tracking and whole backtracking of sub-compartment spatiotemporal data are completed.The asynchronous updating and backtracking sub-system of forestry resource in the platform of forestry resource management information system is accomplished,and it serves the forestry resource management and decision.
