There are three characters about poplars, growing fast, high-yielding, strong adaptability. It widely planted in the middle latitude plain all over the world. Wood of poplars is broad-spectrum. But there are many shortcomings about the pure artificial poplar, for example, low capacity of resisting diseases and insect pests, the abilities to self-recovery are not strong, the yields are not high, the planting efficiency is low. Heze City is one of the first batch of four plains greening attainment areas in China, poplar is the industrialized tree which planted most widely and earliest. It plays an important role in ecological construction and industrial development. We rely on the key project "high quality and efficiency cultivation mode of poplar tree and technology regionalization experiment" which of the State Forestry Administration Bureau. In Heze City, In order to make a breakthrough about poplar cultivation technically in the barren area, we choose poplar of most representativeness to carried out the investigation and research, analyse economic benefits and innovate agroforestry mode.(1) Through the research on high efficiency management model of poplar, we got the result:Agroforestry can improve amount of timber growth and increase comprehensive benefits of the forest, transform low-yielding soil. It is an effect way to increasing farmers’income. The economic efficiency does not have the obvious difference, which every poplar tree variety under the same interplanting mode. But it is higher than the pure poplar tree.Incomes are different when plant different crops under the forest. The pattern under the forest includes:Forest+crops or industrial crop, forest+flowers, forest+edible fungus, forest+traditional Chinese medicine. suitable crops includes Triticum aestivum、Arachis hypogaea、Gossypium hirsutum、Citrullus lanatus、Brassica oleracea Linnaeus、Paeonia suffruticosa、Spinacia oleracea、Ligustrum compactum、Ldgerstroemia speciosa、even mushroom、double spore mushroom、chicken leg mushroom、Salvia bowleyana Dunn、Pinellia ternata、Paeonia lactiflora and so on. Every pattern obtains good economic efficiency. As a result of tradition planter custom and local factor influences, home economics labor force condition、own technology and market demand various, we can choose suitable pattern according to condition.The profits are different in different density.3m×10m is the best density. As the same density, woodland comprehensive benefits are different under different planting mode. in order to abtain the highest comprehensive benefits,4m×10m is the best mode of density of17/667m2,4m×8m is the best mode of density of21/667m2,3m×3m-17m is the best mode of density of22/667m2,3m×8m is the best mode of density of28/667m2.(2)Through the research on poplar cultivation technology, we got the result:Suitable poplar species in Heze City includes:P. deltoides ’Zhonghe2’,P. deltoides ’Zhonghel’, P.×euramericana cv.’L35’, P. xeuramericana cv.’Ⅰ-107’, P.deltoides cv.’L323’, Populus×euramericana ’102/74and so on.Density plays an important role. It can control timber. Because the target is to cultivate the middle diameter timber, the best density is that nutrient area of per plant are16~24m2/667m2and28-42m2/667m2.Under this comdition, it produce higher timber and obtain larger income.One year stock is better than two year stock when planting poplar. It save more and is high rate, greatly improve the government and the farmers’ activity.Fertilization is an important technology measure under the barren site conditions. Trees do not need separate fertilization in the first3years of agricultural crops grown under the tree. Additions of fertilizer in the crops can promote the growth of trees. From the4th year on, we main use nitrogenous fertilizer.Watering is very significant for poplar, watering at the same time of fertilization can improve fertilizer efficiency. From March to June, watering2~3times can promote the growth of root and expand the leaves area. From the late in October to early in November, watering promote the root growth and improve the ability of resistanting cold.Reasonable plough have obviously effect on promoting trees’ growth. The best way is the depth of the15cm and2times a year.
