Ruzhou has a large-scale planting of poplar. A analysis study of difference of growth was carried out between different varieties of poplar in the different site conditions and different density, in order to provide a scientific basis under different site conditions in the development of poplar plantation, to provide suitable Ruzhou natural site conditions and the fast growing high-quality poplar varieties, to guide Ruzhou forestry development, to increase the quality and effectiveness of afforestation. The results were as follows:â‘ 107 poplar had a high planting survival rate, easy to planting and requiring low planting conditions. 1a survival rate of seedlings planted more than 95%. Under the same conditions, Zhonglin 46 poplar and 2025 poplar had a low survival rate, not easy to planting, requiring high planting conditions and daptability is poor. 1a survival rate of seedlings planted only 56% and 30%.â‘¡Under different Planting modes of site,107 poplar had a growth of in excess of Zhonglin 46 and 2025 poplar. Growth were significant differences. However, in field trials, the difference of 107 poplar and 2025 poplar was not significant. Under ravine, hillside site conditions, The height, diameter at breast and volume of 107 poplar in different planting methods all Exceeded Zhonglin 46 and 2025 poplar. So, 107 poplar best adapted to the natural site conditions Ruzhou, was the best tree to development among of 107 poplar, Zhonglin 46 and 2025 poplar. In the field with ample water and fertilizer conditions, site conditions, the growth between 107 poplar and 2025 poplar was not significantly different, this shows that 2025 poplar also be used as preferred species, but it required feeding enough water and hing conditions.â‘¢The line distance and spacing of 2x2x6 (width and narrow row) planting was the best planting method. the larger of planting density of width and narrow row, the greatest accumulation of acres of timber we will get. So, when Carring out the poplar forest, choosing width and narrow row planting methods under same density, we will get the greatest accumulation of acres of timber.â‘£Different species of poplar in the valley and field site conditions grew better. Field site conditions grew best. Poplar in Slope site conditions grew poor. So, when planting poplar forest, as far as possible do not choose hillside to carry out afforestation. Should choose ravine or file site conditions which having more adequate moisture to plant poplar forests.
