On the basis of the conditions of the transportation convenience in Jiangsu, where the biggestdomestic consumer markets are sited in the cities as Suzhou, Wuxi and Changzhou neighboring Hu-NingLine, and the sufficient resource of dry land of the hillock in this province, where there are the plenty ofhilly lands, especially in the south area, the study of the improved breeds introduction and selection ofprotected cultivation strawberry and high-efficiency cultivation technology in Jiangsu Province isundertaken. The development of the strawberry and other high quality agricultural products, which arenot tolerant of the storage and transportation, is an effective method of satisfying the urban consumptionneeds, improving the farmers' planting income, coordinating the urban and the rural development andeventually promoting the harmonious social development. Same as developing abroad, the strawberryproduction in Jiangsu Province has experienced the inevitable process of the change from the open-fieldplanting to the protected cultivation during 1980s. Aiming at the problems in respect of the strawberrybreeds and cultivation technology in Jiangsu, this study summarizes the development of the new breed"Yixiang" with proprietary intellectual property rights and the technology of the nutritive bowl growingstrawberry seedlings, the long-term yield improvement, the key long-term yield improvement, theproportion improvement, and moreover, the accessory technology of beekeeping to prevent the deformedberries, so as to promote the production development of the strawberry in respects to breeds, technologyand facilities. Thereinto, the introduced new breeds "Oak Maiden" and "Zhang Beauty" possessing theobvious advantages in terms of breed and yield have been popularized and applied recently. Due to theexcellent comprehensive property including early maturity, big fruit, good quality and decease resistance,the "Yixiang", which was bred independently, has been welcomed by massive farmers. This studyclarifies the management methods and key technologies including nutritive bowl size selection, nutrientsoil preparation, the time of bowl planting and nutritive bowl growing seedlings. It also defines the keytechnologies for improving the yield of the strawberry in the vinyl house in terms of flower buddifferentiation promotion, different growing seedling types and different field planting periods. Thestudy clarifies the key technologies of the massive yield and quality at the aspects of breed, spacing andflower bud thinning. Aiming at the internal and external causes of the strawberry deformation, the studynot only clarifies the effect of the beekeeping that reduces the fruit deformation and stimulation of theproduction and the differences among the breeds, but also points out a complete set of the methodpreventing the deformation. Regarding the current situation of the protected cultivation of the strawberryin Jiangsu Province, study of comparing the heat preservation effects between the normal steel framedvinyl house and helio-greenhouse was conducted so as to further improve the economic benefit of thestrawberry. This study explains that the heat preservation of helio-greenhouse is more effective than thenormal vinyl house and the temperature is more homogeneous. The study also establishes the ambienttemperature forecasting model in different conditions, which provides the evidence for the heatpreservation house. However, it's inconvenient to manage and deal with the helio-greenhouse in therainy region, which needs to be improved.
