Foot-and-Mouth Disease (FMD) is an acute virus infectious animal disease which is characterized by rapid and long-distance spread. Because it can lead to enormous economic losses and social effects, FMD is the first one in OIE A-type animal diseases list and Chinese A-type animal diseases list. How to prevent and control FMD is an urgent subject faced by governments at all levels. This study was about the evaluation immunity effect of type O vaccine against FMD in Yancheng area, which could contribute to comprehensive prevention and control of this disease in this area.1. Ninety pregnant pigs from farm with good management level and15pregnant pigs from farmers were selected for experiment. The pigs from farm were divided into groups A, B (double doses), and C, and the pigs from farmers were divided into groupsD, E (double doses), and F The pregnant pigs were vaccinated at antenatal30d, and piglets were vaccinated at35d and60d. All pigs were intramuscularly vaccinated. The pigs in groups A, B, D, and E were vaccinated with inactivation vaccine (Government procurement,206adjutants, Type O vaccine). The pigs in Groups C, F were vaccinated with synthetic peptide vaccine (Government procurement). The antibody titers of piglets were analized by ELISA at Od (before feeding colostrum),1d,8d,16d,32d, and at1d,7d,15d,23d after first and boost immunization, repectively. The result showed that the antibody titers of pigs from farm were higher than those from farmers; the antibody titers from double doses groups were higher, but the cost and side effects increased; the antibody levels induced by synthetic peptide vaccine were highest and the side effects were lowest..2. The prevention and control policies were determined by comprehensive investigations in Yancheng area, including immunization, drug prevention, closed-end management of large-scale farms and so on. In order to ensure non-occurrence of foot and mouth disease epidemic in the region, it is need to establish and improve emergency-response command system, epidemic reporting system, early warning and monitoring system, health and epidemic prevention system. |
