Urban tunnels and underground construction projects in the current emphasis on efficiency in the fast-paced city life to relieve traffic pressure, saving floor space, providing people with more convenient and efficient mode of transportation has played a significant role, in addition to the construction and used in many large cities, are now gradually transition to small and medium cities, and formed a certain scale, structure building in space, which extends the breadth and depth has developed. Due to the complexity of urban tunnel engineering conditions and difficulty of the construction about these projects so that many people’s painful casualties tragedy has been resulted in, while the attendant huge economic losses, environmental pollution and adverse social impact to a certain extent also hinder its future development in human society. In this paper, considering the complex conditions of urban tunnel construction, from the prevention of accidents and reduce the risk of major projects incidence angle to proceed, with the Northwestern city tunnel project examples, a lot of researches on the risk management system in whole life-cycle urban tunnel have been accomplished:(1)Based on complex engineering conditions and the current status of theory, proposed a universal and applicable risk management system which is based on the project construction process, object management and three-dimensional RTP risk management mode, and explained how to apply this system to manage risk by two detailed description of the project examples, in order to achieve progress, quality, safety and investment management objectives.(2)Established a risk management mode which has combined the static and dynamic risk management, made a comprehensive risk level assessment standards, sorted out risks based on the characteristics and incentives which has been classified as "man, machine, material, method, environment" five categories then evaluate them.(3)Combining the computer use and risk predict analysis, proposed computer-aided dynamic forecasting techniques, and to build a virtual three-dimensional visualization and animation techniques combined with risk dynamic forecasting are been discussed with significance.(4)Considered the characteristics of each of the current risk assessment methods chose operable, practical and various risk analysis methods, equipped with whole life-cycle risk management system of urban tunnel to achieve the overall project risks and identify local risks of being able to project macro-control risk but also to find the tracking of risk, can provide a reference for similar projects.
