As the acceleration of urbanization intensifies, the subway has been playing an increasingly crucial role in developed cities. However constrained by many characteristics such as short departure interval and massive capacity, subways have to load and unload passengers within limited time. That is the reason way sliding plug doors are wildly equipped. Because of the features of complex structure coupled with hard installation and intricate open/close moves, the reliability of sliding plug doors have aroused disputes. This paper puts forward a new comprehensive method, which combines both FTA and CA together, in order to analyze the reliability of sliding plug doors globally. The most fundamental information of FTA and CA are firstly introduced, based on which the author has studied the accuracy of the new method to calculate the probability of the top event of FTA. Through the analysis and summarization of the malfunctions coming from repair locations, the fault tree of sliding plug doors have been drawn. With the simplification as well as the combination of the fault tree of sliding plug doors, a simplified fault tree of that has been obtained and the results of failure rate of the top event has been gained. The results indicates that the most hazardous incidents are "Disqualification of the slides installation technology" and "EDCU incidents". Then, with those results, the author offers the recommendations to the doors’maintenance. In the end, combining the structure, complexity, CA and maturity, the author uses the method of AHP to re-distribute the reliability to the most important components of subway doors. The outcomes show that "EDCU" along with "Position switch" and "Motor" should be re-distributed with higher failure rate. The combination of FTA, CA and reliability allocation is an intact, scientific method to analyze the reliability of complex objects, for the reason that this bonding integrates those merits of these three methods. Therefore, it is a very effective approach in the field of engineering.
