And thelogistics requirements of the majority of consumers are also increasing, containers"door to door" transport mode gradually recognized and respected by everyone.However, the domestic container shipping industry is still constrained by lowefficiency, high energy-consuming type of transportation, so a new containertransshipment program slowly born, container self-loading systems. Self-loadingcontainer trailers what based on it, occupied more and more market share with itsflexible and fast characteristics.Firstly, the basic structure and overall design methods of self-loading containertrailers were introduced. They consist of six systems including tractor, semi-trailer,lifting gear, sliding mechanism, hydraulic system and electrical control system, theseparate power source is an optional one. Tractor, semi-trailer, hydraulic system andelectrical control system are the main outsourcing parts, lifting gear and slidingmechanism are the main self-made parts. At the beginning, the main parameters mustbe determined, then the parameters of various sub-systems were determined. In theprocess of self-made parts design, no matter design or processing, must base on themain parameters, the bought-in components should be confirmed and the matchingcalculation should be finished at the same time.Further, the design method of the lifting gear of self-loading container trailerswas explained simply, and the effect of vehicle handling performance which make byvarious structural forms of lifting gear has been compared. The lifting gear ofself-loading container trailers is made up by five parts: base part, upper arm, lowerarm, leg, lifting chain, its power come from hydraulic cylinders, by using the power,self-loading container trailers can finish variety of container handling operations. oneof self-loading container trailers was used as an example, then the design method ofthe lifting gear was introduced. As we know, different self-loading container trailers need different lifting gear to match it. So the match way was also studied, somedeliverable was got phase by phase, a reference for the design of the series of modelsand subsequent research work was provided.Moreover, vehicle handling performance was analyzed. Under the premise of thelifting device research, tractor and semi-trailer chassis were added to it, and leafsprings and tire models were established, ultimately the virtual prototype vehicle wasimproved. Then two typical operating conditions were analyzed, the impact on thehandling performance of vehicle chassis elastic component was determined.
