With development of social economy in recent decades, the process ofurbanization and the pace of life in China are more and more rapidly that make peoplebegan to travel farther and farther away, so, bicycle as a means of transport obviouslycan’t meet people’s travel requirements. With the advantage of fast, electric bike cantravel farther than bicycle. Electric bike increases the electric drive to bicycle, andmeet the people’s demands of fast, lightweight, environmentally. The electric bike willbe the preferred mean of transport for mostly residents in the current and future, and ithas huge space to develop.With continue improved of the related applications and innovative technologiesand product’s quality, electric bike has entered a mature stage through the more thanten years efficient and rapid development. Overall, the market potential for electricbicycles is enormous, and electric bicycle industry will be more flourish. But therehave been many problems in the process of electric bike development. The merchantspursue the profit one-sidedly, so that many problems start to emerge in productplanning, management, design, marketing, consumption, after-sales service, evenelectric bicycle’s pedal function gradually weakens. To solve the problemfundamentally, we need to do optimization and improvement in its design andstructure.The main contents of this paper include the following aspects. Firstly, by researchand analysis the existing electric bike, this paper tries to discover the advantages anddisadvantages in design. Secondly, according to peoples’ habits and patterns in cycling,and combining the electric bike’s structure and the related theories in Ergonomics, thispaper studies and analyses the electric bike factors on bicycling posture. Thirdly,modeling features, structures, materials, colors and other design elements in electricbike design are analyzed carefully. Then I make a forecast for the trends. In myopinion, electric bicycles will develop toward the miniaturization, simplicity, humanity,technology and diversification direction. Lastly, according to the specific data of bodyand the related theories in Ergonomics, this paper does optimization and improvementin electric bike appearance and components.
