Place Reconsideration Of Contemporary Landscape Based On Phenomenological Theory

The development of Chinese contemporary landscape construction has ignored the existence of human self-consciousness, putting people in a continuous dominated position. The study of the theory in landscape design also concentrates on the exploration of traditional gardening methods, complementing by the analysis of foreign style genre, which lacks of theoretical research focusing on man. The research of landscape theory has the function of instrument, explanation and criticism, and it not only can transform experience to practice, but also be able to explain the status quo, and above all it has the function of criticism. Therefore, Chinese contemporary landscape should focus more on theoretical studies. Phenomenological theory can deal with the realistic issues between landscape and nature, landscape and human beings, which can be used as experience to guide practice.This paper is based on contemporary landscape design, and from the perspective of site existence, experience and perception phenomenology to explore the reconstruction and its method and point of view. Studying different kinds of experience structure will awaken people’s sense organs to the environment. Phenomenological landscape study includes perception and atmosphere, site spirit and meaning construction, memory, emotion and desire, body awareness and its visualization. This paper will also point out reflection based on the theory of phenomenology. Chinese landscape design should have the "unknown qualities", which are the skin of eyes, the beauty of weeds, the implication and discovery of the trip. The selective cases will be expressed in narrative text through examples of experiencing mode. The method of contemporary landscape reconstruction will be mainly from lexical morpheme extraction, landscape structure and landscape metaphor to reconstruct the landscape. It will use phenomenology as the attitude of the landscape, and landscape language to operate the reconstruction of landscape. Each projects and cases will be studied from double perspectives of theoretical analysis and scenario experience to lay a firm practice foundation for this research, which is more persuasive and instructive.Phenomenology is not only an attitude of philosophy, possessing epistemology significance, but also has the foundation of the methodology, which can guide the practice of design.
