| The rationality which is regarded by the contemporary as a standard is a major crisis for the diversified development of architecture.Since the 1980 s,the rapid development of information technology has brought infinite possibilities to architecture,and many meaningless architectural forms have been designed for the purpose of dazzling technology,this phenomenon deviates from the original intention of technology as a way to improve human production efficiency and promote sustainable development,which is undoubtedly a "retrogression" of ideas.Monumental architecture as one of the architectural types,has brought the focus of architectural design back to the people due to the particularity of the subject matter themselves.The "perceptual" component of monumental architecture is the last line of defense against mechanized architecture.In the process of seeking the way of monumental architecture design,through the combination of philosophy and architecture,a kind of thinking that breaks through the "rationalist" architectural design has emerged.The phenomenology of perception founded by Maurice Merleau-Ponty provides a solution to the field of architecture.The consideration of space,forms,and materials in architectural design combined with the phenomenology of perception must concern about the experience of people’s bodies and perceptual systems.Therefore,combining the phenomenology of perception with monumental architecture is an effective way to integrate perceptual thinking into the rational activity of architectural design.This paper studies the experience design of monumental architecture through literature research,case study,inductive and deductive research and design practice.First of all,this paper finds out the relevance of the phenomenology of perception to monumental architecture.Based on the theoretical analysis of the phenomenology of perception,the summary of monumental architecture,and the analysis of the experience design of monumental architecture methods,the significance of the phenomenology of perception in the design of monumental architecture is deduced;Secondly,this paper analyzes well-known design cases of monumental architecture in home and abroad by diagrams,and summarizes the spatial form characteristics under the influence of the aspects of immaterial experience,material experience,perceptual blanking and detailed shaping,plot and path organization,then forms a graphical language system,which can not only guides the morphological design of the monumental architecture,but also plays a more direct role in enriching the space experience of monumental architecture;Finally,through a design practice,the graphical language system of monumental architecture design is applied to real.In the design project,the feasibility of the design language is proved in practice.The innovation of the paper is that it does not just analyzes and summarizes problems from a philosophical perspective,but interprets the design of monumental architecture through the way of the phenomenology of perception.Moreover,the research starts from the fundamentals of design and the perspective of the phenomenology of perception to summarize the design language of monumental architecture,with the purpose of providing new ideas for the multiple experience creation of monumental architecture. |
