In the face of the situation of Fuzhou city road traffic increasing pressure, strengthening the construction of urban road infrastructure is used to improve the urban road traffic congestion and increase the efficiency of residents; At the same time, the construction of live traffic system to guide the travel of residents reasonably is also significant. In this study, Fuzhou live traffic WebGIS system which was built individually could visually display traffic information to the users, and users could ordinaryly query real time traffic information using PC or mobile terminals. In addition, the system provided optimal path analysis which was based on real-time traffic function, by that users could analyse the current traffic conditions anytime and anywhere. It also provid the optimal path selection plan in view of the current road conditions to assist users making decision go ahead of time. At the end, that could achieve the purpose of guiding the travel of residents reasonably and increasing the efficiency of the travel of residents.Based on the summary of the main advantages and disadvantages of the current implementation of real-time traffic WebGIS systems which were respectively built with C/S, B/S, or RIA, and in view of the traditional WebGIS vector data visualization in the browser lacking of unified standards and the slow response of using map section of the present situation, using HTML5Canvas technology as the PC and mobile terminal real-time traffic performance was proposed, and a vector layer to load a single client API MapCanvas1.0was created. To solve the problem that was the slow response speed and cost flow existed in MapCanvas1.0when loading a single vector file, the concept of "vector tiles"was introduced and the operation regulation of vector tiles generation and storage was put forward. Then the client API to load vector tiles-MapCanvas2.0was constructed on the basis of the original MapCanvas1.0, and the browser-side expression of Fuzhou city live traffic was based on MapCanvas2.0. The experiment proved that the way loading vector tiles by MapCanvas2.0could effectively avoid the loss resulted from querying traffic flow, improve the response speed, and enhance the user experience. System server used the open source platform to build the traffic information acquisition module and the optimal path query module, which was based on real-time road traffic. When the real time traffic information to assist the client, the system provided the optimal path query function by entering the start point and the end point location. In addition, the server side has good cross-platform portability characteristics, that could greatly reduce the cost of system development and maintenance. The reasonable structure in Fuzhou city real-time traffic system embodied the core of data, expansibility, openness and security features in software design. Fuzhou city live traffic system used HTML5Canvas as the client drawing methods, that not only solved the problem of slow loading speed and flow cost when using tile, but also made that the WebGIS in vector data expression on the client had a uniform standard, so that it enhanced the WebGIS cross-platform nature. Besides, the "vector tile" technique is proposed and applied to make the system client rendering speed obviously improved. And using open source platform to build system could save development cost and enhance the cross-platform characteristic of the system. Experiments proved that the system could meet the demand of users query and analysis of the traffic, and to some extent it could alleviate the pressure of the urban road traffic.
