Internal-combustion engine is the main power plant construction machinery.With the development of science and technology, topology optimization techniquesused in internal combustion engines designed or modified components, you caneffectively improve the structural characteristics of the relevant components. Thisarticle continuum structure topology optimization methods as content analysis, todayintroduced the development of the field of topology optimization, in-depth study ofthe topology optimization process to the material used in the interpolation modelapproach and optimization algorithms, and topology optimization results in numericalinstabilities occur and its suppression methods. Based on this theory, topologyoptimization design techniques will be applied to improve the design of the enginecomponents in order to achieve lightweight structure while improving the structuraluse characteristics.The main work is as follows:1) The topology optimization of continuum structure theory is studied deeply,respectively discusses the material interpolation model method, optimizationalgorithm and a variety of numerical instability phenomenon and its inhibition method2) Aiming at the shortcomings of the optimization algorithm, an improvedmoving constant limit is proposed, and gives the specific iterative format. Numericalexamples are carried out. The result shows that the new algorithm is more stable andfaster convergence speed.3) Aimed at the disadvantage of SIMP on penalty function, based on the theoryof variable density method,a new improved SIMP penalty function method isProposed. Numerical examples are carried out. Compared with the original modelmethod, the results show that the modified method of interpolation function hassuperiority of stable optimization results and fast convergence. And further improvethe RAMP topology optimization method is applied to an internal combustion engine piston skirt to give a more satisfactory improvement effect and improve thecomputational efficiency, validation and reflects the improved method of topologyoptimization techniques RAMP engine viable structure design and application value.
