Nursing Home Space Research Based On "Social Life Feeling" Creation

The phenomenon of population aging in China becomes more and more serious. It isvery necessary to build the social pension system. This article basing on the research ofthe community dwelling elders and the elderly in nursing home found that the quality andquantity of social elderly life are both declining because of the decline of their physicalcondition. And the lack of sense of social life is one of the most important reasons whichcause the loneliness of elderly and overwhelmingly reliant on children. As an importantpart of the social pension system, the designing of nursing home is directly related to theelderly life quality and the stability of the social pension system.According to the lack of social life of the elderly, this article researching on thenursing home space to search one design pattern of space design which can provide moresocial life feeling for the elderly in nursing home.Firstly, the article started from the research of the elderly’s social life and found theinfluencing factors of social life feeling: the rich experience of space、more opportunityof meeting、rich content of daily life、independent selectivity. Then basing on this theory,it studied the indoor and outdoor space of nursing home design and found the designsuggestions.This is a new research area of the nursing home design. It is very meaningful forproviding the elderly a rich spiritual life and enriching the theory systems about nursinghome design.
