In the recent ten years, with the rapid growth of car sales, the whole car industry maintains a steady and rapid development in China. Apart from building new plants to expand capacity, the auto companies also achieve this aim through improving the capacity of existing production line. There are many reasons can influence the production of assembly line, while the volatility is one of main reason. The volatility of auto production line is an objective existence, and has an extremely serious influence on production performance; therefore, looking for the ways to weaken the influence of volatility is desperately needed.This article does research on the characteristics of the actual production line status firstly, which leads to the volatility and its sources, then uses flexsim simulation to explore the mechanism of the influence on production line by volatility; Next taking the volatility into consideration of the production line balance to put forward the model and algorithm of random line balance; Finally, industrial engineering method and buffer method are put forward from the perspective of single location and the entire production line. The main work is as follows:1) It analyzes the sources of volatility and its influence on the production line. From the factory physics and practical cases, this thesis summarizes the sources of volatility of the production line; Doing research on the mechanism of the influence on production line by volatility from three aspects of single location, double location, the entire production line; Through the research above, it provides basis on putting forward the weakened method of volatility;2) It determines the location operation time distribution of automobile assembly line. Based on the time samples by actual measured, determine steps through a series of time distribution, and the automobile assembly line operation time can be determined by considering the normal distribution, all of these provide a parameter input support for the subsequent model;3) It establishes production line balance model with considering volatility. It taks the influence effect of volatility into consideration on the production line balance model which just considers the average to establish the stochastic production line balance model, and come up with tabu search algorithm of stochastic production line model. 4) It puts forward the countermeasures to reduce the influence of volatility. It comes up with each technological method mainly from the perspective of the single location and the entire production line. The influence of volatility on the single location is mainly solved by industrial engineering technological methods, while the cumulative effect of volatility on the entire production line is mainly weakened by the method of establishing the buffer.This article takes the volatility into consideration on the production line balance, and puts forward the countermeasures, it has a certain practicality.
