With the rapid development of smart power grid enterprise of State Grid, the amount oftraction wire rope for tension stringing is greatly increased. The working environment oftraction wire rope is relatively harsh, which should not only suffer the erosion from hit of rainand exposure in the sun but rough operation when tension wire was strung and the bendingeffect caused by reel winding and tackle for paying off. In the meantime, when the wire ropeworks, it is likely to be stuck with dirt and further forms into pollutants, which quickens thedamage of wire rope and shortens its lifespan. In order to lower its cost and adding its safetyfactor in the working process, the research focused on the cleaning and maintaining the wirerope is very important. Nevertheless, the cleaning of wire rope plays an important part andpresupposes the whole maintaining line.Aimed at the key technology required in the maintaining line of wire rope, this paper hasdone some research relevant to the wire rope cleaning for system development.(1) Explore the suitable and applicable technologies used for the cleaning, detecting andmaintaining wire rope, realize the goal of long its lifespan, lower the operating cost andensure the purpose of safety in terms of staff and property in the view of the tough workingenvironment of wire rope and the problem of adhesion from dirt, erosion, friction and fracture.The cleaning equipment of wire rope, the nucleus part of the maintaining line, firstly carriesout research on the mechanism, then analyzes the effect demands of wire rope cleaningequipment and determines the final general design. Do the effect analysis, study therealization of various functions based on which develop the steeping and jet cleaning part andapply the Solidworks software to interfere detection.(2) Take the Eulerian Model as the jet flow field and verify it to analyze the regularpattern of jet distribution in the air, the forming mechanism, and the structure of jet flow fieldand the distributing rule of the speed of the jet flow in the field. Put forward the researchindex of wire rope cleaning by way of the jet hitting force and subsequently infer the jethitting formula of circular object cleaning.(3) Analyze the index influencing the wire rope cleaning and set four main influencingparameters, use the orthogonal optimizing theory and flow field analyzing software FLUENT to optimize the wire rope cleaning parameter and the target parameter is the standard hittingforce of wire rope cleaning. Adopt the extreme difference analysis and square error analysismethod to explore the effects caused by the four main parameters, that is, the impact angle,off distance, the input pressure and shapes of nozzle. The research has found out that the mainfactors affecting the hitting force of wire rope cleaning are input pressure, the jet impact angleand off distance among which the input pressure is the most prominent one and nozzle shapecan be listed as the experiment error for its unobvious effects.(4) The research and verification of jet flow experiment analyze the four main optimalparameters gained by the simulation experiment and come out the best parameters accordingto the wire rope cleaning experiment. Due to the limits of situations of simulation experiment,the parameters affecting the working speed of steeling wire rope were not taken into theconsideration and can be set by the experiment analysis.It is sponsored by a joint-school project “Environment-friendly Wire Rope Cleaning,Detecting and Maintaining Integrated Equipment”.
