With the rapid development of Chinese economy, the dependence of country on the gasconveying pipeline gradually increases, yet the safety problem of gas pipeline has beenconcerned by government, the public and the enterprises. Once the gas accidenthappen, it will lead to a huge casualties,and economic losses,environmental pollution,and other disastrous consequences, all these will even make serious affects on the stableand rapid development of the national economy.The integrity management of underground gas pipeline is the whole process of riskassessment to minimize the probability of accidents and to lower the risk of the wholepipeline. The study in this paper is based on the success in the pipeline integritymanagement of oil and gas long distance conveying implementing. This is the new modeof the safety management in a higher level which is proposed after the gas pipeline riskand safety management of the city.This paper briefly introduces the significance and contents of the integrity management ofthe underground gas pipeline, and describes the development of integrity management ofthe gas pipeline at home and abroad in the first part.Secondly, This paper summarizes five elements of risk source by referring to the mostcomment used international risk assessment by aiming at the characteristics of gaspipeline accident, this paper analyses various influential factors which cause the gaspipeline failure with practical experience. Those five elements are damage caused by thethird party, corrosion, inherent factors (design and construction defects), improper operation,nature and geological disaster. In addition, this paper introduces the popular international standardrule and determining method of the tolerable level of the risk of burying gas pipeline underground.Further more, as a member of the Project of Shenzhen Underground Gas PipelineCompleteness Management Information System, The author fully involved in theexploiture process of the system. Therefore, this paper is designed to introduce theachievement of the development of Shenzhen Underground Gas Pipeline IntegrityManagement Information System. This information system combines the goodmanagement, process and technique of the integrity management underground gaspipeline between enterprises then fuses and solidifies. It actualizes every step ofinformation management of the integrity management such as risk assessment, riskmanagement and effectiveness evaluation. Lastly, some conclusions are given and new views are put forward in the further research.
