Nuclear power valve is the key component of the nuclear power equipment, thesealing face’s material and quality influence the service life of the valve and the safety ofthe production directly. Through the selection of the high performance of the materialwelding on the valve sealing face, the service life of the valve can be extended significantly.The properties and the quality of the surfacing layer not only depend on surfacing material,but also the corresponding welding technology to a large extent. This paper studied thesurfacing materials which apply to nuclear valve sealing face, including iron, nickel andcobalt base material, as well as the common methods of the surfacing. By contrast, matchdifferent methods to different conditions at last.According to the national conditions of our country, the government has notdeveloped our own perfect nuclear power standards. At present, we mainly use the RCC-Mand ASME BPVC Ⅲ for the design and manufacture of the mechanical equipment of thenuclear island in our country. In terms of the surfacing of valve sealing face, France’sRCC-M standards and ASME standards of the United States differ a lot in many details.How to choose and use these standards, it will have a lot of impacts on the quality of thenuclear valve sealing face. In this paper, through the comparison of the technologyassessment test of the gate valves sealing faces surfacing between the ASME nuclearforensics prototype of the Harbin electric valve company in2009and the evidenceprototype of the civil nuclear pressure equipment, compare and analyze tungsten argon arcwelding and plasma arc welding process to find similarities and differences of the two kindsof the standards. Learn from each other, to make beneficial exploration for the nuclearpower application of the valve industry of our country.
