Although filler accounts for a small propotion in asphalt mixture, the asphaltmotar that is made up of filler and asphalt has a great influence on the hightemperature and low temperature performance of asphalt mixtures.Filler can increasethickness of asphalt film, improve viscosity of asphalt mixture and increase stiffnessof asphalt mixture. Studies have shown that asphalt mortar made up by filler andasphalt is related to asphalt mixture performance. Therefore, the research on fillerand asphalt mortar is meaningful to the research of relationship of the filler andasphalt mixture.The paper studies filler from three aspects as follows.1. The relationship between common filler and the high and low temperatureperformance of asphalt mortar is studied comprehensively. Advanced dynamic sheerrheological and bend binder rheological is used to test asphalt mortar, which is madeup of asphalt and slag or cement or lime. Impact factors of the research include ratioof filler and asphalt,temperature and frequency. Due to the good performance ofcement, trying to replace partly or all of slag by cement, to study the relationshipbetween the proportion, different ratio of filler and asphalt and high and lowperformance of asphalt mortar, from point of view the high and low temperatureperformance to study the best alternative proportion.2. The relationship between Sasobit warm mix additive and asphalt mortar isstudied. According to related research,best Sasobit dosage is3%of quality of asphalt.Filler is limestone slag, ratio of filler and asphalt is0.6,0.9and1.2, DSR andBBR is used to study the relationship between the additive of Sasobit and high andlow performance of asphalt mortar. Finally, from high and low temperature aspect,to determine the best ratio of limestone slag filler and asphalt.3. Artificial Neural Network (ANN) is applied to predict complex modulus ofasphalt mortar.Although DSR is powerful, it needs skilled test people and test periodis too long. Using ANN powerful study and predicting ability to build a model thatinput is ratio of filler and asphalt, temperature and frequency and output is complex of asphalt mortar, which will provide an effect way to predict complex modulus ofasphalt mortar quickly and precisely for researchers.
