| Because of its unique growth habits and ornamental features, vine becomes an important part of the garden plant groups, and is widely used in a variety of urban landscapes. At present, the garden of vine mainly exists in each big city’s botanical garden. And it rarely separately appears in the city’s public landscape. To enrich the urban landscape and meet the entertainment needs of general public and scientific research, it is very necessary to establish the garden featuring in vine. This paper reviews related literature about vines and botanical garden, and draws the following conclusion by combining theory and practice:1、Based on the analysis of the vine’s development status at home and abroad, this paper sums up the bio-ecological study of the vine, as well as the types of climbing vine:winding, volume climbing, adsorption, thorn and attachment. Moreover, the major type can be further classified into two to three subcategories.2、By analyzing several typical vine gardens at home and abroad, this paper summarizes its type including "the garden park"and independent vine garden;one species and various species vine garden. And summarizing a set of complete application form of vines. That’s vine for wall greening, gallery greening, roof greening, sketch greening, stone greening, makeup greening and potted landscape greening. And a list of recommended vine varieties is presented.3、According to the design of vine garden in Hunan forest Botanical Garden, and in conformity with local culture, physical and ecological environment, this paper designs a multifunction vine garden with scientific research, plant displaying, leisure and entertainment features, by employing the method of scientific planning, classified displaying, and ecological cultivation of vine.4、Relying on vine seed-breeding base in Hunan province and through a periodic investigation, a list of50recommended vine varieties which are worth promoting in Changsha is presented. |
