In recent years, with the increasing human demands on marine resources,the development of ocean exploration equipments are geting more attention frompeople. This article describes a kind of underwater sonar platform, which com-bines shallow subbottom profiler sonar and bathymetric sidescan Sonar It canachieve the function of Drawing submarine topography maps, analysising thegeological structure of the shallow strata.Signal transceiveing and processing system plays a central role in the un-derwater sonar platform. It combines the function of sonar signal emission, real-time acquiring the echo signal, and acquired signal data processing, storage andupload.In this paper, the basic principle and structure of shallow subbottom profilersonar and bathymetric sidescan Sonar have been reasched, and the structure ofthe underwater sonar platform is described. The hardware structure of underwatersonar transceiver processing system is designed which consisted of signal proc-essing board and signal acquisition board on basis of demonstrating the advan-tages of the FPGA+DSP architecture. It includes the power supply circuit, A/Dconverter driver circuit, D/A converting drive circuit, the master DSP circuit, thecircuit of the coprocessors, the logical center of the FPGA circuit, Ethernet inter-face circuit.In this paper, The time sequence and the the duty cycle of the two sonarhave been researched for the design of the solution that achieving the systemfunctions by FPGA and DSP collaboration. Parameters controlled and sent by theDSP, the underlying control achieved by FPGA logic. The design of signal proc-essing board and signal acquisition board’s FPGA and CPLD logic and DSP pro-gramming have been completed. The shallow subbottom profiler sonar and bathymetric sidescan sonar signal transmiss and echo signals receive and cache.The system also outputs some of the auxiliary signal.After finishing the sonar transceiving and processing system hardware andsoftware’s design. The article describes the system functional test,each modulehas been tested and is working wel, and the purpose of the pre-designed isachieved. Finally, the whole sonar system platform is combined to proceed thejoint debugging experiment. Platforms works well, we obtain the seabed topog-raphy data and plot the result map. It validates the success of the signal the trans-ceiver processing system design.
