Therefore, the establishment of the yacht piping parts library, it is of great significance to improve the efficiency of the yacht cabin three-dimensional design, shorten the design cycle and avoid duplication t.C ATIA can realize visualization of three-dimensional design of the ship, and its basic function can cover all aspects of ship design, such as the analysis, design, construction, maintenance the entire product life cycle of the ship, In this paper, based on the research of CATIA, deeply analyzes the yacht cabin encountered in the process of3d design problem. With Visual Basic6.0as the software development platform, by calling the CATIA underlying API to develop yacht piping parts library software, This paper main research work:1) Further study of the principle of the secondary development of CATIA, and expounds the three ways by using knowledge engineering, VB, VC development of CATIA parts library specific steps, and deeply analysis and compare the method of design CATIA standard parts library.2) Based on the analysis of CATIA and Visual Basic running environment and mechanism, this article parts library software development based on CATIA V5platform, in the development of Visual Basic environment, by using the Access database management system and ADO database Access technology, by calling the CATIA underlying API interface function, this paper completed the yacht piping parts library software development. Through parts library software can basically to implement the intelligent of the yacht cabin3d piping design, thus improve the efficiency of the yacht piping3d design. on the basis of3) Introduced the hull structure, further study of the application of CATIA in the engine room3d design, and introduce the CATIA system for engine room3d design process.4) Taking NHS685yacht for example, by using CATIA software design NHS685yacht cabin structure, And under the background of the engine room, use Parts library software designn the yacht cabin3d piping, realizing the visualization engine design.
