The plane is the crystallization of human wisdom, the level of manufacturing technology and its design can directly represent a country’s level of development of science and technology. The parts of the structure of the aircraft is very complex, in the design process prople often need to modify the problem of the part model, but repeated modeling effect of aircraft design work efficiency seriously. If the variant design method is applied to the aircraft design process of complex parts which can effectively solve this problem. The biggest advantage lies in the characteristics of variant design on the existing examples and relevant knowledge reuse. First, the artical summarized and classified for aircraft structure and sheet metal which are the represent complex parts of aircraft. Then establish the part feature templates, classify knowledge related to the variant design and build feature library contains the enterprise knowledge. Then this artical make a detailed research for the variant design method which faced to the aircraft complex parts design. This paper mainly through the method of variant design based on parametric technology, variant design method based on feature and variant design based on constraints redefined to achieve aircraft complex parts design. Finally, according to the research,we choose a secondary development tool named CAA, which is provided by Dassault Systemes and build a complex part variant design system based on feathers. At last the artical run the variant design system by examples, thus the research result has been basically reached the expected requirements. It can be proved that the system can improve design efficiency, reduce repeat modeling workload etc.
