| Old City Reconstruction has become the important theme of Chinese urbandevelopment. In many cities like Beijing, Shanghai, Guangzhou and Shenzhen, Old CityReconstruction is used to enhance the competitiveness of regional development relying ongood location and traffic infrastructure construction.Through the Old City Reconstruction in Liwan District in Guangzhou, analysismethod of traffic problem research in old city, old village and old factory and road trafficdemand characteristics and prediction of old town is be created to propose a series oftransportation system design principles, strategies and methods for big cities.Firstly, analysis method of traffic problem in old city is proposed to research thetraffic problem about the traffic situation of three types of the old town in Liwan District inGuangzhou. Among these problems, bus and parking is the common challenges.Secondly,“human-oriented, respecting history, all benefits covered†is the basicprinciple.“transportation-oriented, high density branch network and parking controlpolicyâ€is the main direction of transportation development in old city. These are thedifference of planning between old city and new city. These also are the transportationdemand prediction characteristics.Thirdly, regional development orientation, historical culture accumulation and thereconstruction target all are the key factors of road traffic design direction. Based on a casestudy of Liwan District in Guangzhou, a series of transportation system design principles,strategies and methods for big cities is proposed through thinking urban developmentdemands on traffic design.Finally, the result has a certain reference value for researching road traffic system ofOld City Reconstruction in China. At the same time, some ideas is proposed to guide thefurther research. |
