| The suitability study of the overflow dam construction under the plateau geological environmentalconditions is a major issue of the hydropower project construction in the western region. The overflow damsite is located in Moqu river of new street hui township Moqu ditch (west river) upstream. According to thespecial and complex geological conditions in the research area and the features of overflow damconstruction, Quantitative assessment of site suitability was made by the analysis of major engineeringgeological problems and conditions in the construction of overflow dam project. Result showed that theresearch area stratum is mainly composed of the late Pleistocene alluvial and Triassic tuff. There is noregional faults near the site. Furthermore the field does not exist the adverse geological processes whichinfluence the stability of ground, the author comes to a conclusion that the site suitability of overflow dambelongs to a good level and Sanhe region is suitable for this project construction. |
