Research On SUV Styling Design Based On Contemporary Style

Automotive industry in China growing so fast that the anual productivity of2012had reached Nineteen million.Nowadays，people start to pursuit personality，in thisway，how to improve design capabilities of automotive become a key point whichdomestic enterprises focused on．Automotive styling as a cultural and aestheticcharacterization on spiritual became more and more important．Therefore，how tocatch the contemporary automotive styling become a necessary and importantproblerm．This paper proposed a method that throught researching the contemporary styleof SUV to guide SUV styling design．First，the paper introduce the theory aboutantomotive style，such as the vision feature conigitive of automotive style and themental image conigtive．Then，introduce the longitudinal analysis method andCross-Section Analysis，building up a framework to research the contemporary styleof SUV styling．Afterwards，Using longitudinal mophological analysis andCross-Section image analysis to get the rules of contemporary SUV stylingdesign．With longitudinal mophological analysis，it is fond some rules ofmophological about the outline，muscle and graphic feature．With Cross-Sectionimage analysis，it is summarized four kinds of main contemporary style of SUV fromtwenty-four samples by using image scale，and sumamarized the rules of styling byanalysis the features such as outline，muscle and graphic of four kinds ofcontemporary style of SUV．According to a process of automotive design，the paperproposed a method which based on the result of research for SUV design．This methodhad been used in an automotive design progress．This paper provides a systematic method for automotive styling trends study anddesign．...
