Auto Style Analysis Based On Features Group And Wuling Style Design

In recent years, with the rapid development of China’s automotive industry, domestic auto enterprises have begun to pay more and more attention to improve their Independent research development and design capabilities. In this process, satisfying the consumer’s pursuit of related aspects of automobile appearance and personality will become one of the key factors of deciding brand success or failure. Therefore, automobile modeling styles considered to the spirit carrier of automobile appearance and aesthetic characterization would get more and more attention from automobile manufacturers. How to grasp the overall style trend of automobile modeling design at the present stage in the design process become an important question which car designers will faced with.This paper is built on the cooperation project of State Key Laboratory of Advanced Design and Manufacturing for Vehicle Body (Hunan University) & SAIC-GM-Wu ling Automobile Co. ,Ltd, along with modeling design for Wu Ling N400 based on the cooperation project. Starting from the rational thinking based on the empirical analysis, combining the sensibility thinking Based on the analysis of the phenomenon, modeling design style In the history of design is studied.First of all, automobile modeling and modeling features are introduced. From the viewpoint of entirety, the design process of automobile modeling is analyzed, as well as the concept of feature group introduced. By studying the related knowledge of automobile modeling style and the analysis of visual cognitive characteristics and process, the paper constructs the theoretical framework of style analysis. On that basis, through extracting and characterizing automobile modeling feature of each period, automobile modeling styles of each period are analyzed. It sums up the characteristics of organizational structure of feature group at the present stage of the "diversity" style and the style trend of Specific modeling feature line and face. On this basis, guided by Wu Ling brand’s modeling feature library, According to Wu Ling N400 project positioning , the design of Wu Ling N400 modeling scheme is completed, combined theory with practice. This paper provides valuable reference framework of research for the study of design style of automobile modeling. It, meanwhile, opens up a new train of thought for the cognition of automobile modeling styles.
