Fluid machinery refers to exchange between the mechanical energy of the fluid and thework of the machine. They can play a decisive role position in the national economicconstruction. There is a special kind of fluid machinery, which is in a implicit state and used as amechanical power transmission and transformation device, including hydraulicdynamic,hydraulic and pneumatic transmission device.Compared with other transmission ways, there are many advantages of hydraulictransmission and control technology, which is widely used in various fields of the nationaleconomy. The hydraulic valve is the important component in hydraulic system, which is used tocontrol the fluid pressure, flow rate and flow direction and has an important influence on theperformance, reliability and economy of the hydraulic system. In essence, the hydraulic valve isa device which contains the throttling components that can be divided into spool valve, conevalve, the throttling groove, damping hole from the structural type of the throttling components;it also can be considered as complex fluid flow channel containing some form of valve port fromthe view of flow. Spool valve with U-shaped notch is one of the non-circular opening spoolvalves, which places several U-shaped notches axissymmetrically on the spool. It is currently themost widely used notch spool valve because of its good control characteristic and convenientprocessing.In this paper, Computational fluid dynamic (CFD) and theoretical analysis are used toinvestigate the flow characteristics of orifice and the calculation method of the steady-state flowforce. The content and conclusions of the paper on notch spool valve orifice’s area characteristics,flow characteristics and its calculation theory is supplemented, which also provides a newmethod for the calculation of the steady-state flow force of the U-shaped notch spool valve.Meanwhile, the influence of the dimension parameters of the U-shaped notch on the flowcharacteristics of orifice and the steady-state flow force are analyzed. The research has guidingsignificance for understanding control performance and offers reference for U-shaped notch’design....
