Compensated pulsed alternator is a special kind of synchronous generator,usingcompensation principle and air-core structure to improve output current.It is a kind ofexcellent mini pulsed power supply because of the advantage of energy density and powerdensity.This paper carries out a reaserch on the excitation and control system ofcompensated pulsed alternator.First,this paper analyzed the principle of compensated pulsed alternator,built the mathmodel,and set up the simulation model with simulation software on the base of mathmodel,which laid the foundation for the follow-up work of analysis and design.Then,three excitation solutions were put forward which were single-pulse excitationsolution,repeated-pulse excitation solution,and self-excitation solution.Comparing both theadvantages and disadvantages of them in performance,reliability, feasibility,and volume andweight,came to the conclusion that self-excitation solution is the best one.Then,according to the math model and circuit diagram of self-excitation solution,weanalyzed the condition of self-excitation,deduced the formula of the condition ofself-excitation and verified and correct it with simulation,to make it more accurate.Moreover,designed the excitation and control system.Both hardware and software ofthe eccitation controller were designed,and design thought of main part were introduced.Finally,we finished the initial experiment, the analysis of discharge in single-pulseexcitation solution,comparing with the simulation,and had a reaserch on the influence onoutput waveform from firing angle and main dischage switch.
