With the development of economic and continuing raise of population,the water demandin industry and daily use have became more and more serious,and the contradiction of watersupply and demand are also more outstandingly. However the aging of the water supply netand the water pollution and some other reasons make the contradiction more serious.In order to solve the problem of uneven distribution of water resources, the centralauthority and local government put a large number of people, material and money in longdistance water supply program. For example Transport Water from Yellow River to Shanxi,Transport Water from Yellow River to Qingdao, Transport Water from Yellow River toNeimenggu, Transport Water from South to North. In the long distance water supply pipeconstruction project, the most outstanding problem is the water hammer protection inlong-distance water pipe.In order to research how to alleviate water-hammer of the long distance water supplypipe more deeply,base on the previous studies theory, the article described the hydraulic flowpattern and the evolution. Then give a deeper analysis about the structure and capability of theequipments which is common use used on water supply pipe. and discuss the whatequipments is demanded in order to alleviate water-hammer in long distance water supplyprogram. Together with the project such as Luneng pumping station water supply pipe,reservoir water diversion project of Zhang jia kou,and provide reference for long distancewaterline hydraulic transient’s analysis.The article briefly describes the hydraulic transition process in the more commonly usedmethod of characteristics, combine the method of characteristics and the structure andfunction characteristics of water hammer protecting device, raise the importance ofunderstanding the water hammer protecting device characteristics to designers in engineeringactual computation. Using the C++language compile visible procedures and doing simulativecalculation in computer to solve some of the problems in the initial design of the pipelineprotective equipment.According to the character of water hammer in long distance flat water supply pipe, The hazard of air pocket motive was analyses. And the best way to alleviate the water hammer ofcavity collapsing were proposed,and combines the best protective measures Luneng Pumpingwater pipelines interrupt water hammer. Through comparative studies and more intuitive toshow the performance comparison of different protective measures in the different hydraulicconditions, and it can be chosen to similar project.
