With the faster and faster steps of the growing up of the cities and the improving ofpeople’s living level day by day, the water demand of various trades and occupations alsocontinually grows. But, the water resources distribution is also non-uniform all parts of thecountry, therefore, long distance and large-scale water distribution projects are also gettingmore and more, such as Xian Heihe water transportation project, Transport Water fromTianjin to Luanhe, Transport Water from South to North. But the tube explosion problem ofwater distribution project is also following. Because of the inconvenience and the greatdamage causing by the tube explosion problem of water distribution project, theanti-explosion technology research of long-distance and multiple branches water supplysystem, with gravity flow, water supply system is an important problem in safe operation ofpipelines. The technical personnels of the engineering also consider that it should beresearched in depth.In this paper, on the basic of the studies and development and the cause, classificationof the water hammer, Various flow patterns in the water pipeline are detailed to be analyzed;Calculating basic principle and methods of the water hammer prevention are to present;Giving the Boundary Conditions of many facilities; Making use of the calculator to carry onto imitate the calculation, with the Microsoft Visual C++being the developing tool. Simulatethe water hammer protection of the long-distance and multiple branches water supply system,with gravity flow, combined with the engineering example and the pipeline model.Analysis the calculation and compare the result for the water hammer protection of thelong-distance and multiple branches water supply system, with gravity flow, combining withthe Jingkui water supply project and Langzhuo water supply project. Research the changes ofthe pressure through closing the valve at the end of the main pipe and the branches. Combinedwith the exhaust problems of the pipeline, the measures of closing the valves in two stagesand the method of installing pressure regulating towers are put forward. The methods andadvices for preventing and reducing the tube explosion are also put forward.The result of this paper is not only favorite to Xinjiang Jingkui water diversion projectand Langzhuo water supply engineering pipeline safety operation management, but also valueto water hammer protection theory and method on the water supply system of all types.
