From the old city to the western suburbs garden, from the denselypopulated areas to the natural scenic Long River water system by theDepartment, linked together in this central city to the suburbs of Beijing, atransition zone. With the accelerating process of urbanization, urbanconstruction in Beijing area constantly out to spread today’s perspective, the"transition" in this sense is not so obvious.Long River waterfront city evolution generally experienced including theJin, Yuan, Ming and Qing feudal period of four dynasties, the Republic ofChina, after the founding of the reform and opening up since four stages, afterhundreds of years of vicissitude, the Long River coast style from the suburbsthe scenery transformed into the urban jungle, there are also certain problems.For example, etc.Trying to the concept of sustainable development in the context of thestudy, in conjunction with urban design theory, the first in-depth analysis ofthe value characteristics of the Long River waterfront, of meticulous combingLong River waterfront urban space evolution process and its evolutionmechanism causes behind them analysis; then given to the evaluation from thepoint of view on the spatial characteristics of the Long River waterfront. Beexplored based on the Long River waterfront sustainable development strategy,proposed to build the cultural heritage protection corridor, to build the greenecological landscape of the city, built development goals, and proposed thedevelopment of policy and other aspects. Finally, the combination of specificcases to reflect on the process of urban development of the water system of theLong River and even the Beijing area history, emphasizing the core values ofthe protection and utilization of the landscape for the urban development ofthe waterfront.
