The Impact On Residents Travel Behavior Of The Public Transport Development In Xi’an

The residents travel behaviors not only test the efficiency of urban transport, butalso affect the face of urban transport. With the rapid development of economy andsociety, city dwellers increasingly rich all kinds of production and daily life activities,and with the advance of urbanization and motorization, frequent traffic demandcontinues to swell, urban transport problems also began to focus emerged. At present,China’s urban public transport development far cannot adjust the economic and socialdevelopment and the travel needs of the people, and in most cities the proportion ofpublic transport trips is still low. The face of the difficulties brought about by thedevelopment of urban traffic, public transport because of its large volume, less pollution,saving road resources, etc., reached a consensus by more and more countries and citiesto give priority to the development of public transport and solve traffic problems.What’s impact between the residents travel behavior and the development of publictransport to the end? This paper will be found the basis of previous theoretical studiesrelated residents travel survey and combined the results of an empirical study of thestructural investigation of urban public transport of Xi’an.The main content of the paper is as follows: The first part describes the functionalcharacteristics of the public transport, summarizes bus priority approach to analysis thecharacteristics of bus priority by macro-policy and micro design, and analyzes theimpact on residents’ travel through urban changes by implementation of bus prioritydomestic and foreign. The second part using Xi’an urban transportation planningdocument proposed bus priority strategic to contrast an analysis of the commoncharacteristics of Xi’an urban transportation bus priority and bus priority measures characteristics. The third part using several residents travel survey results in Xi’an toanalyze summarized the characteristics and changes of Xi’an residents travel at thebegginnin,then making use of MNL model on the impact factor of travel behavior ofresidents. The forth part through summary of existing theory and previous research,studies the characteristics of the residents’ travel behavior, influencing factors andrelated models. Part V discusses the impact and change of the development of publictransport in Xi’an residents travel behavior, and put forward the views and opinions ofthe author.
