Settlements Morphology refers to the external shape or form of settlements as awhole and its internal elements, is an important aspect of Settlements features,settlements morphological features are always deeply branded with the stigma of theera.Starting from settlements morphology, study their development and evolution Werecognize that the settlements development of important means.This paper take the city profile research method selected Xi’an is a cross sectionof the southern section of the north-south axis, the profile surrounding the lot (westSuzaku Avenue east Wenyi Road,Greenwood Road,north from the East and WestStreet south beltway) for researchrange of typical settlements for the lot to startresearch, delineation of the stages of development of the settlements form the basis ofthe analysis of the survey data,and clear summary of the survey data each timesettlements morphological characteristics of the stage,and then eachthe time stageSettlements morphological comparison reveals the development and evolution of thesettlements form,a brief analysis of the main factors affecting development of Xi’ansettlements morphology evolution. Specifically:The first chapter is the introduction of the research background, significance,methods,concepts.The second chapter describes the theory of domestic scholars settlements formfrom the overall morphology of the settlements,residential systems form,the form ofthe road system,green system form,the form of public service facilities system fiveaspects of the research status are reviewed,and indrawing on the basis of previous studies on the impact of a series of settlements form factor.The third chapter, first by combing Xi’an calendar overall planning and urbanconstruction historical review of the course of the construction of Xi’an after thefounding of the city, further summed up the two main characteristics of urbanconstruction in Xi’an, construction and development directionchanges in the spheres ofexpansion and construction land use of urban cross-sectional study selected Xi’annorth-south axis, the southern section of space as the actual object of study to expandto the next stage of the research work on this basis.The fourth chapter settlements field research, focusing on research data andanalyzed.
