Aiming at the problem of the complex structure and the highmanufacturing cost which exist in the current LED panel lamps, this paperpropose two new LED panel lamps, which have low cost and simplestructures.Firstly, the article introduces a new structure of LED panel lamp withsingle edge lighting, and proposes a new design method of the scatteringnetted dots on LED light guide plate with single edge lighting. A model is setup to got an arrangement formula and related method to design this kind oflight guide plate with scattering netted dots. According to the method thedesign of scattering netted dots on a LGP with single edge lighting issimulated and analyzed by using TracePro software. The correctness of thedesign method is verified, and the results of simulation and experiment showthat the evenness degree of surface illumination higher than90%.Secondly, the article studies the optical design problem of a window typeLED panel lamp which without light guide plate. By theoretical calculationand software simulation, the results show that the uniformity of illuminanceof out-light surface can reach86.3%while the window pane’s area is240mm*300mm, the thickness of the lamp is15mm, and the angle betweenthe axis of LED array and out-light surface is4°. Meanwhile, the result alsoshow that the uniformity of illuminance can be much higher when thedistance between LED array and out-light surface is larger, and the distancebetween two LED arrays is smaller. On the heat dissipation aspect, this articleanalyses the mechanism of “chimney effect” and simulates heating pipe by Icepak.In the simulation, the radiator pipe heights respectively are400mm、600mm、800mm,then observe the steady heat resource temperature when the length of side of thesquare vent is changed. The simulation results show that the best side length of thesquare vent is12mm-20mm when the radiating pipes height are600mm and800mm.In additional, the adaptive side length of the square vent is10mm-20mm when the heating pipe height is400mm. All these results show that chimney effectradiating pipe is feasible. The design of replacing the vertical border of LED panellamp by radiating pipe directly to cool the LED solves the heat emission problemwithout metal heat sink.At last, experimental testing and analysis of these two new LED panel lampstructures are carried out on the base of theoretical calculation and softwaresimulation. Results prove that these two new designs of LED panel lamps can beused in indoor illumination and can reduce manufacturing cost largely.
