Research On Electric Vehicle Battery Management System Test Platform

Battery Management System (BMS) is one part of Battery System in EVs, andplaying an important role to EV’s Safety working and energy distribution. Thusmany company and institute research battery management technology deeply for along time. Some products had been applied to EVs. With industrialization of BMS,making an overall test of BMS is an important way to guarantee safety whenworking in EVs. Therefore develope a test equipment that can fully test theperformance of the battery management system is imperative.This paper takes the electric vehicle battery management system test platform asthe research object. A detailed understanding of the current battery managementsystem functions and implementation, based on the formulation of a managementsystem for electric vehicle batteries comprehensive performance testing program,and both from the hardware and software elaborated on the automated testingplatform architecture. The test platform in the hardware design, the NI PXI industrialcomputers, and the company’s board as the core, with a variety of testing instrumentsand modules implements all hardware integration; in software design, as with NILabVIEW programming environment, combined with a variety of toolkits developed,including safety testing, routine performance testing, environmental adaptability testa total of25sub-items integration testing software.Finally, analysis the measurement accuracy of the test platform, In addition to aset of samples of battery management system as the test object, using the testplatform to test its overall performance is standard or not, and using the test data forfurther analysis, pointing out the battery management system improvement measures.
