The steering system is to maintain or change the direction of vehicle traveling system,decide automotive active safety. How to design the steering characteristics and letautomobile has good maneuverability, has always been an important issue for automobilemanufacturers and research institutions.This article is based on a typical integral steering mechanism, assume that the tires areabsolutely rigid bodies, ignoring the role of the wheel alignment parameters andsuspension, without considering the premise of the space angle and kinematic pair gapbetween each mechanical rods, it builds a planar mathematical model of automotivesteering mechanism, conducted a series of theoretical research for its steeringcharacteristics under low speed state based steering Ackerman principle.Research of the vehicle simplest turn state, it defines the concept of the simplest turnstate, meanwhile establish two and four wheels mechanics model, respectively to conductanalysis by the analytical method and graphical method, get each wheel force variationwith the steering rotation angle increases and expressions of the graphical method.Research of the vehicle theoretical characteristic lines of turn left and turn right andsteering ideal ellipse. It puts forward two concepts which the theoretical characteristic linesof turn left and turn right, and the steering ideal ellipse, meanwhile deduced anddemonstrated their rationality. It provides a new idea for research steering with completerolling and check steering trapezium mechanism. It could be more accurately judge thequality of steering with complete rolling, and provides a new design reference forgeometrical dimensions of steering mechanism.Research of the vehicle ideal steering trapezium, it defines the concept of the idealsteering trapezium and establish the mathematical model of the ideal steering trapezium. Itputs the deviation of ideal steering trapezoid tie rod and the actual steering mechanical tierod as optimized target, through optimize design of real vehicle parameters to get a bettercombination of parameters, verify the unit of length as a judge based on checking thesteering trapezium mechanism, compared with the traditional point of view is based onangular error, to better quantify, contrast and accurately.On the basis of the above research, this article has designed a new automotive steeringcomplete rolling device. It transformed the steering trapezoid structure into a closedhydraulic control oil line, send information through the angle sensor, ECU receives information to control the oil flow rate and the output torque of power motor, to ensure thevehicle wheel deflection while turning satisfy the Ackerman rotation relationship,moreover ensuring appropriate wheel toe when the vehicle traveling. So that the wheeldoes not occur transverse sliding, tires will reduce wear, thereby improving the drivingstability and riding comfort. The announcement of the patent license is No.ZL201220562540.5.
